This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies that DocGenie Inc. uses on docgenie.cloud and in the DocGenie app at app.docgenie.cloud, and how you can control them. It is part of our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser so it can recognize you on later visits or across pages. First-party cookies are stored under docgenie.cloud, whether we set them or a vendor's script sets them for us. Third-party cookies are stored under the vendor's own domain. Most of the tools below set both kinds. Pixels, browser storage, and device fingerprinting work in similar ways, and this notice covers them too.
What we use them for
We do not list every cookie by name. The names change as vendors update their tools, and a list of names tells you less than who sets them and why. Each category below names the company, what it does for us, and where it runs.
Essential and operational
These keep the site and the app working and secure. In the app, we set the sign-in and security cookies ourselves; Stripe processes payments; Google reCAPTCHA screens for bots; FingerprintJS Pro recognizes devices to prevent fraud; Datadog monitors performance and errors; Finicity, Plaid, and MX run the bank-connection flow in their own frames; and Frill runs the feedback board. Finicity, Plaid, MX, and Frill each keep their own cookies or browser storage. On the website, the only cookie we set ourselves is dg_optout, which records your opt-out for one year. Cloudflare sets a thirty-minute bot-management cookie on HubSpot's domains whenever HubSpot's scripts load.
Analytics
These tell us how the site and the app are used. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity run on the website and in the app. PostHog and HubSpot analytics run on the website only. Google Analytics counts visits and conversions; Google describes its own processing in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. Microsoft Clarity records sessions and builds heatmaps with all text masked. It also sets Microsoft's MUID cookie, which Microsoft uses across its own services, including advertising, as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement. PostHog is our product analytics tool: it loads through our own domain, PostHog stores the data for us, and only we use it. HubSpot analytics links website visits to the contact records of people who fill in a form.
Advertising
These measure our ads and let ad platforms show you ads elsewhere based on your visit. Google Ads, Meta, Reddit, and the HubSpot ads pixel run on the website. Google Ads, Meta, and Reddit also run inside the app. This is the sharing described in the Privacy Policy.
Identity resolution
On the website only, RB2B and its partners, including LiveIntent, compare your IP address and cookies with an identity graph. If you are in the US, they may tell us your name, company, work email, and LinkedIn profile so our sales team can follow up.
Marketing and messaging
On the website and in the app, Customer.io recognizes you across visits so we can send the email and in-app messages you signed up for. HubSpot powers the contact form and chat on the website.
How long they last
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies last from a few minutes to two years, depending on the vendor, and most of the cookies above expire within thirteen months. Items in browser storage stay until you clear them.
How to control them
- Your Privacy Choices turns off the analytics, advertising, identity-resolution, and marketing tools on docgenie.cloud for the browser you are using, except PostHog. The essential tools in the app keep running. The app does not read this choice yet; that page shows whether this browser has opted out.
- If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, the website treats it as the same opt-out.
- Your browser settings can block or delete cookies, including essential ones. Blocking essential cookies can stop sign-in from working.
- Google, Meta, Reddit, Microsoft, and RB2B offer their own opt-outs. The links are on the Your Privacy Choices page.
Changes to this notice
We update this notice when the tools we use change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
